Oil painting made by Julia Grechkina. I adore mountains. The warm evening sunlight reflecting off the mountain peaks is known as Alpenglow.
Alpenglow doesn’t actually come from the sun shining on the mountains but rather from light scattering in the atmosphere. It’s most commonly seen in the Alps but can occur in any mountainous region, creating breathtaking views, especially when snow-covered peaks reflect the glow.
I have never been to the village near Matterhorn - Interlaken but some day I will go there.
