I was so fortunate to visit the Alps last winter!
Hopefully, this winter I will see these mountains again, with snow glistening in the cold air. This place gives me so much inspiration. I love winter; I enjoy walking through knee-high snow and sliding on icy paths.
I was in Garmisch and in Innsbruck. About Garmich I will tell in my another blog post! Do not miss it!
I like to step through the high, powdery snow and slide on icy paths. I lived in such conditions until the age of 35, and the conditions of the damp Dutch winter seem unreal to me. Dry winter frosty air is what I need to feel at least once a winter; otherwise, the year doesn't seem to have changed for me, and it feels like it has been the same for seven years, unchanged.
I haven't been to Siberia for over 10 years; it's so far away. But last year, I rebooted by visiting the Alps!
The paints I brought with me helped me capture what I saw and felt: the snow, the sunlight falling on snowy clearings, the blue depth in the shadows cast by little spruces, powdered with snow and with snowy caps on the branches. Sharp peaks in dramatic clouds against the misty valley.
The mist rushed to the summit where we were, wait, it's not mist, it's a clouds floating right along us!
Amazingly beautiful light effects were created right in front of us at an altitude of 2000 meters.
People didn't tire of photographing these ever-changing clouds that sometimes darkened with a heavy cloud, then bathed in sunlight passing through them. Tap the pile, I couldn't put all the images I want to share with you in the text!
I created an artwork of the picturesque view. It was an amazing experience!
the artwork is available in my shop!
